Happy Mother’s day

Mother !  my  precious  and  lovely  gem,
You  are   my  divine  and   priceless  eye,
The   little   world   around  me, you  had shown,
as  a   tiny  tot,  when I  was   born   and  since  then          
I  see  the  world  through  you , my mom .

Mother ! I  have   learned  to  call  you  mom,
and  to  call  father, dad  b’cos   you  loved  me ;
Your  timely  intervention  and  care, when  we, 
siblings  quarrel  and  fight  with   each other 
stopped  us  from  doing  that  to love  my  brother.      

Mother ! you  taught  me  to  keep  things  clean   
taught  me  to dispose  of  waste  in  the  waste bin.
In  childhood,  I  learnt  alphabets  and  numbers   
with  your  help, especially,  in  kindergarten  classes;
Mom,  I  love  you  for  everything  and  what you  are.    

Mother !  whenever  others  pointed  out  your  faults 
you  stood  poised  and  relentlessly  calm ;
tried  to  analyze  your  own  deeds  and  words
thinking  that  they   might   have  hurt  them ;   
and  I   admire  and  love  this  noble  quality  in  you.    

Mother !  whenever  I  fall  ill,  you   try  to finish 
your  daily  chores  as  soon  as  possible
saving  time  to  sit  beside  me  and  relish  
by  feeding   me  food  to make  it  edible;        
You  are  so  kind  to bear  with  my  obstinacy.
  
Mother  !  I  have  seen   you  treat  
children  and  the  poor  with  due  respect
and   love   and  converse  with  compassion . 
When  neighbors  approach   you  for  guidance 
you  readily  guide   them  with   benevolence.

Mother ! You  celebrate  your   children’s  birthdays
in  a   simple  way  but  with   delicious  delicacies
which  always  holds   us   with  lingering  memories.
You  have  taught   us   the  importance  of  festivals 
and  often   tried   to   retain   the   essence  of  it.  

Your  warm  touch, used  to soothe us with  vivid  memories   
and  relieve  us  from   severe  pain   and   sadness.
