ഫെഡറേഷൻ ഓഫ് മലയാളി അസോസിയേഷൻസ് (ഫോമ) യുഎസ് ചെസ് ഫെഡറേഷനുമായി അഫിലിയേറ്റ് ചെയ്തു. രാജ്യത്തെ ചെസ് ടൂര്ണമെന്റുകളിലേക്കു മികച്ച കളിക്കാരെ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്ന ഒരു നീക്കമാണിത്. 

ചെസ് സമൂഹത്തിൽ വർധിച്ച മലയാളി സാന്നിധ്യം ഉണ്ടാവും എന്നത് മാത്രമല്ല, കളിക്കാർക്ക് ഈ അവസരം കൊണ്ട് ഏറെ പ്രയോജനങ്ങൾ ലഭ്യമാവുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു ഫോമ ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടുന്നു.

FOMAA Becomes an Affiliate of US Chess Federation

In a significant development for the chess community, the Federation of Malayalee Associations of Americas (FOMAA) has officially joined as an affiliate with the prestigious US Chess Federation (USCF). This move is poised to bring together a wealth of talent and resources from both organizations, fostering a vibrant and inclusive chess culture across the Americas.

FOMAA Capital Region recently organized a National Chess Tournament in both unrated and rated categories. FOMAA community is thrilled by the success of the tournament and its contributions to children and families and looking forward to having more tournaments organized in the future. Many of the players were also interested to know whether the FOMAA chess tournament was affiliated to USCF to use it for them to advance in the game. To take the full benefit of the chess tournament and improve the ratings for the participants, FOMAA has become an affiliate of USCF. Any ratings from chess tournaments played under the FOMAA affiliation with USCF qualified tournament directors will help to improve the players USCF rating.

FOMAA, renowned for its commitment to promoting Malayalee culture and heritage, has long recognized the power of chess in brain development and as a unifying force. By aligning with the USCF, FOMAA aims to further expand its reach and impact within the growing chess community, while also providing its members with access to the vast array of opportunities offered by the federation.
