ഫിലഡല്ഫിയ: അമിതമായ മദ്യപാനം, ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത സംസാരം, യാതൊരാവശ്യവുമില്ലാതെ തോക്ക് വാങ്ങുന്നത്, ഇവയൊക്കെയാണു ഫിലഡല്ഫിയയിലെ വെടിവയ്പ് സംഭവത്തിലെ വില്ലന്മാര്‍. മലയാളി സമൂഹം ഇതില്‍ നിന്നു ഇനിയെങ്കിലും പഠിക്കുമോ?
മദ്യപാനമോ മറ്റു ദുശീലമോ ഉള്ള വ്യക്തികളല്ല വെടിയേറ്റു മരിച്ച സാം (ശ്യാം) തങ്കപ്പനും (31) സഹോദരനും. എന്നിട്ടും സാമിനു ഇത്തരം ഒരു സ്ഥിതി വന്നത് സമൂഹത്തെ ഞെട്ടിച്ചു.
സാമിന്റെ മ്രുതദേഹം ചൊവ്വാഴചയെ ലഭിക്കൂ എന്നാണു അറിയുന്നത്. വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച വ്യൂവിംഗും ശനിയാഴ്ച സംസ്‌കാരവും എന്നാണു സൂചന.

മല്പ്പിടുത്തത്തില്‍ വാരിയെല്ല് ഒടിഞ്ഞ തോമസ് ഏബ്രഹം പോലീസ് കസ്റ്റഡിയില്‍ ആശുപതിയിലാണ്. ജയിലില്‍ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനായതിനാല്‍ പ്രിന്‍സ് ജോയിയെ പ്രാദേശിക ജയിലില്‍ അല്ല പാര്‍പ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
സംഭവത്തെപറ്റി അറിയാവുന്നവര്‍ പറയുന്നത് ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്. 8-9 മാസം മുന്‍പ് ഒരു പാര്‍ട്ടിയില്‍ വച്ച് സാമിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ വരുമാനത്തെ തരം താഴ്ത്തുന്ന രീതിയില്‍ സംസാരിച്ചുവത്രെ. സാമും സഹോദരനും അത് ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തു. അന്ന് ആ പ്രശ്‌നം പറഞ്ഞു തീര്‍ത്തു.
ഏതാനും മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞ് വീണ്ടും അതേ സംഭവം ആവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു. സാമും ചില സുഹ്രുത്തുക്കളും കണ്ടോളാമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പോയി.
തുടര്‍ന്ന് വിനോദിന്റെ വീടിന്റെ ഗരാജില്‍ സ്‌പ്രേ പെയിന്റു കൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങള്‍ പിന്നാലെ ഉണ്ട് എന്നോ മറ്റോ ആരോ പെയിന്റ് ചെയ്തു. ഇതിനെതിരെ വിനോദ് കേസ് കൊടുത്തു. എന്നാല്‍ മതിയായ തെളിവില്ലെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു കേസ് തള്ളിപ്പോയി.
കഴിഞ്ഞയാഴ്ചയാണു വിനോദ് തോക്കു വാങ്ങിയതെന്നു പറയുന്നു. അതിനു ലൈസന്‍സ് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെന്നു പോലീസ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടില്‍ പറയുന്നു
ബുധനാഴ്ച രാത്രി വിനോദും പ്രിന്‍സും കൂടി സാമിന്റെ വീട്ടില്‍ എത്തി. പിതാവ് പാസ്റ്റര്‍ തമ്പി മര്‍ക്കൊസ് മാത്രമെ വീട്ടില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു. വീടിന്റെ വാതിലില്‍ തൊഴിച്ചു എന്നു പറയുന്നു. വാതില്‍ തുറന്ന പാസ്റ്റര്‍ അവരെ വീട്ടില്‍ കയറാന്‍ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.
അധികം ദൂരെയല്ലാതെ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന മക്കളെ വിളിച്ചു വരുത്താന്‍ അവര്‍ നിര്‍ബന്ധിച്ചു. അര മണിക്കൂറോളം കഴിഞ്ഞ് മക്കള്‍ അകത്തുള്ള ഗരാജ് വഴി വന്നു. മല്പ്പിടുത്തമായി. പാസ്റ്റര്‍ അവരെ പിടിച്ചു മാറ്റി. ഇതിനിടെയിലാണു തോക്ക് ഉപയോഗിച്ചതത്രെ. മൂന്നു ബുള്ളറ്റ് സാമിന്റെ മേല്‍ പതിച്ചു.

If you dont know something, just report it honestly. Dont think all the readers are dumb enough to believe everything you write. No one deserve to die that way and what they did is heinous that cant be justified in any way. But report news honestly without adding your imagination in a really upsetting incident that affected malayalaee community

What the heck Thankappan was doing in the bar? How he got associated with these criminals? Why it is so big deal about our parents or their salary? Many American presidents were very poor and struggled a lot to make both ends meet. There are so many Malayalees in America worked hard, went to college and realized the American dream. But, many are still living in the 'shit hole' of race, religion, hereditary, Association presidents, and other BS. When people get screwed up, this kind of things happen. Anti social element must be behind the bar. These nuts ruined the life of so many others too. We need to shut down FOAMA, FOKANA, and all type associationa . All the Malayalee churches must be closed down and let the priests go back to India. @John & Sabu: I known Sam for 20+ years and I can put my hand on my chest and say He’s a good kid and so as many of the people ever interacted with Sam. He loved and cared for his family and friends, worked hard, and most importantly stood up for what he believed.

@dan...i guess you really don't know the victim then. Just Google or lookup if you are smart. There were plenty of cases against him including weapon charges. I am not defending anyone and they were all trouble makers in their own ways. I wish the report was non biased without emalayalee putting their own imagination into the story. Shooters had no criminal history and victim had many. My point is the reporter shouldn't just blindly write up a story with his narrative.

I wish you would let the deceased ..Rest in Peace. It is not appropriate to bad mouth on someone who lost his life and his grieving family...No matter who or what a person is, noone is to judge other than almighty himself. Murdering someone for any reason, in this case a simple argument...Taking a human soul does not deserve any kind of sympathy.
