Mumbai, Sep 18: Actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan, who has have always been associated with philanthropic and social causes, have come forward to save Mumbai Film Festival, which is facing a financial crunch rightnow. His wife, filmmaker Kiran Rao, who was present at the press conference to announce the 16th Mumbai Film Festival, said that Aamir has donated Rs. 11 lakhs for the festival.

Earlier, Aamir had said that he will donate Rs. 10 lakh for the film festival. Apart from Aamir, filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, have also provided financial aid to Mumbai Film Festival.

Apart from them, Hansal Mehta and Anupama Chopra are also among the many others who have turned guardian angels for the festival.
