A Symbolless, Absolute Image! [English Poem: Prof (Dr.) Joy T. Kunjappu)
When the disconnections from her apron strings sprang?
Neatly dressed, white-ironed-loose”bottoms”
tight-fitting Syrian Christian “tops”
evening walks to the bamboo gate%
artistically folded clothe-fanon the back:
firm grip of a dedicated toddling follower.

Fingers, perennially tied to the chores:
laundry clothing and stuffs;
feed for her poultry;
bucket for lifting water;
long wooden-and short granite-pestles;
hot iron with burnt coconut shell;
the press for filtering processed oil;
healthy, medicinal herbs &roots;
spread-mat in sunlight for grains;
scare crow from a black umbrella;
coloring dyeto dip the hatchedchicken;
a stick to deflect predatory birds;
natural yeast from residual arrack;
metallic template for festival cake;
broom for cleaning cow-shed;
vessel & waterfor milking-man;
wood cutter’s logs for fueling rice;
mouth-watering smell from trident-oven;
folded handsbefore St. Mary %
a partial list of endless, unscripted daily chores …

                           2
A mummified mom in a tomb
to the linking tubular womb:
an unclassified teacher par excellence
the unrecognized negotiating diplomat
managerialmenagerie-tools in the kit
tweeting feeder of flowing words in a teat%
symbols inefficient and ineffective
when we yearn for an absolute image
to survive thelogical fallacies of fatherhood!
