ന്യു യോര്‍ക്ക്: ജാസ്മിന്‍ ജോസഫിനു സമൂഹം കണ്ണീരോടെ വിടപറയുമ്പോള്‍ ഉത്തരം കിട്ടേണ്ട കുറെ ചോദ്യങ്ങളും അവശേഷിക്കുന്നു.
ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നപ്പോഴും മരിച്ചപ്പോഴും അധിക്രുതരുടെ പക്കല്‍ നിന്നു നീതി ജാസ്മിനു കിട്ടിയോ?
ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു സെമസ്റ്റര്‍ ക്ലാസില്‍ പോയില്ലന്നതിനെച്ചൊല്ലിയായിരുന്നു വിവാദം. അതിന്റെ മറവില്‍ അന്വേഷണങ്ങള്‍ കാര്യമായുണ്ടായില്ല. മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലും അതു നിറഞ്ഞു നിന്നു.
മരിച്ചപ്പോഴാകട്ടെ എന്തോ വാതകം ശ്വസിച്ചു മരിച്ചു എന്ന് പോലീസ് ഓട്ടോപ്‌സിക്കു മുന്‍പ് തന്നെ വിധി എഴുതി.
എന്താണു അങ്ങനെയൊരു വാതകം? സാധാരണക്കാര്‍ ആരും അങ്ങനെയൊന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടാവില്ല. ഒരു കൊച്ച് പെണ്‍കുട്ടിക്ക് അത് എവിടെ നിന്നു കിട്ടി?
അതു ശ്വസിച്ചാല്‍ കാറിനകത്ത് ഇരിക്കാനാവുമോ? പ്രാണഭയത്താല്‍ കാറിനു പുറത്തു ചാടില്ലെ? കാറില്‍ തന്നെ സീറ്റുകള്‍ക്കിടയിലായിരുന്നു മ്രുതദേഹം കണ്ടതെന്നു പോലീസ് പറയുന്നു. അതെങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു?
അത്രയും ദിവസം അവിടെ ആരും കാണാതിരുന്ന കാര്‍ അവിടെ വന്നതും മറ്റൊരു ചോദ്യമായി. എത്ര ദിവസം മുന്‍പാണു മരണം സംഭവിച്ചത്?
ഓട്ടോപ്‌സിക്കു മുന്‍പ് തന്നെ പോലീസ് എന്തിനാണു നിഗമനങ്ങള്‍ പുറത്ത് വിട്ടത്? മലയാളികള്‍/ഇന്ത്യാക്കാര്‍ അല്ലാത്ത മറ്റൊരു സമുഹമായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഇങ്ങനെയൊക്കെ ആകുമായിരുന്നോ പോലീസിന്റെ അന്വേഷണം?

An earnest investigation is time consuming,at times the police doesn't want to go through such a prlonged process until someone questions the investigation.All they want is wrap up the case and move on to the next.That's why we hear wrongfull convictions.In Jasmin's case there is lot of unanswered questions.Hope that in due course of time the family will know the truth.At this time let almighty give them the strength to pull through this difficult time.

Jasmine seems like a very energetic and vibrant young lady that enjoyed life. This is concerning why the cops seemed too eager to wrap all of the cases with the three Indian kids. I hope God will give these families peace at this time. I cannot even imagine how it feels to bury your children. May God give her parents and siblings strength to look upto Him and be filled with hope of the resurrection.

There seems to be a lot of unanswered questions in Jasmin's death. What type of investigation was the Nassau county Police conducting when more than two weeks of her missing was reported and finally the car with the body was found in such a shopping area where hundreds of people come and go every day. Usually the police wait to give the cause of death till the autopsy and toxicology result is announced. The Indian community must demand a thorough investigation in to this whole affair.We are citizens of this country and live and pay the highest taxes in the country
