ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം മറക്കുന്നത് ശരിയല്ല: വയലാര്‍ രവിക്ക് ഒരു കത്ത്‌

ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട പ്രവാസികാര്യവകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി ശ്രി. വയലാര്‍ രവി അറിയുന്നതിന്,
ഒരു മന്ത്രി എന്ന നിലയില്‍ താങ്കള്‍ നിര്‍വഹിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഔപചാരികമായി നന്ദി പറയുന്നു.
വിദേശ രാജ്യത്ത് ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഇന്ത്യാക്കാര്‍ ഓ. സി. ഐ , പാസ്‌പോര്‍ട്ട്, വിസ കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കുന്ന പ്രശ്‌നങ്ങള്‍ താങ്കളുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍ കൊണ്ടുവന്നിട്ടുള്ളതാണ്. എന്നാല്‍ ക്രിയാത്മകമായ നടപടികള്‍ ഉണ്ടായതായി ഇതേവരെ അറിയില്ല. താങ്കളുടെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ അമേരിക്കന്‍ സന്ദര്‍ശനവേളയില്‍ ഈക്കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ നേരിട്ട് അറിയിക്കുവാനും പരാതികള്‍ ശ്രദ്ധയില്‍ കൊണ്ടുവരാനും ഞങ്ങള്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ താങ്കള്‍ അത് നിരസിച്ചതില്‍ അമേരിക്കയില്‍ ഉള്ള ഭൂരിപക്ഷം ഇന്ത്യക്കാരും ഖിന്നരാണ്.
നമ്മുടെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഉയര്‍ച്ചക്ക് വേണ്ടി അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളവരും, അതില്‍ അഭിമാനം കൊള്ളുന്നവരുമാണ് ഓരോ വിദേശ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരനും. സ്വദേശിയായാലും, വിദേശിയായാലും, ഏതൊരു ഇന്ത്യക്കാരന്റെ പ്രശ്നം വന്നാലും അതില്‍ അര്‍ഹിക്കുന്ന രീതിയില്‍ ഇടപെട്ട് പരിഹാരം കാണാനുള്ള ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം ഒരു ജനപ്രതിനിധിയായ താങ്കള്‍ക്കുണ്ട്. ആ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വത്തില്‍ നിന്നും ഒളിച്ചോടുന്നത് നട്ടെല്ലുള്ള ഒരു ഭരണാധികാരിക്ക് ഭൂഷണമല്ല.
ഇവിടെ അമേരിക്കയില്‍ താങ്കളെ കാണാനും പൂമലയിടാനും, പൊന്നാട അണിയിക്കാനും അവസരവാദികള്‍, നേതാന്ക്കന്മാര്‍ ചമഞ്ഞു കറങ്ങി നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. പൊന്നാടയുമായി ചാടിവീണു പല്ലിളിക്കുന്ന ഇത്തരം കുറുക്കന്മാര്‍ എന്നെയോ ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് വരുന്ന മറ്റു ഇന്ത്യാക്കാരെയോ പ്രതിനിധികരിക്കുന്നില്ല. അവര്‍ക്ക് അവരുടെതായ കച്ചവട താല്‍പ്പര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാവാം. 'സായിപ്പിനെ കാണുമ്പോള്‍ കവാത്ത് മറക്കുക' എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് പോലെ മന്ത്രിയെ കാണുമ്പോള്‍ മുട്ടിടിക്കുന്നവരാണ് ഇക്കൂട്ടര്‍. താങ്കളെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിച്ചു ഇത്തരി കാര്യം സാധിക്കുക, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഒരു ഫോട്ടോ എടുക്കുക എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശം മാത്രം ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് ഇവര്‍ ഒരിക്കലും സത്യം താങ്കളോട് പറയില്ല.
ഇന്ത്യ എന്നത് ഒരു വികാരമായി ഉള്‍ക്കൊണ്ട് ജീവിക്കുന്ന മണ്ണില്‍ തലയുയര്‍ത്തി നില്‍ക്കുന്നവരാണ് ഞങ്ങള്‍ പ്രവാസികള്‍. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മാനം ഞങ്ങളിലൂടെയാണ് ലോകം ദര്‍ശിക്കുന്നത്. സ്വന്തം നാട്ടില് നൂലാമാലകള്‍ ഇല്ലാതെ വന്നു പോകാനുള്ള ഒരു സാഹചര്യം ഉണ്ടാവണമെന്ന് മാത്രമേ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നുള്ളൂ.
ദയവായി താഴെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ പരിശോധിച്ചു ആവശ്യമായ നടപടികള്‍ എടുക്കണമെന്ന് വിനയത്തോട് അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

ഇവിടെ അമേരിക്കയില്‍ താങ്കളെ കാണാനും പൂമലയിടാനും, പൊന്നാട അണിയിക്കാനും അവസരവാദികള്‍, നേതാന്ക്കന്മാര്‍ ചമഞ്ഞു കറങ്ങി നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. പൊന്നാടയുമായി ചാടിവീണു പല്ലിളിക്കുന്ന ഇത്തരം കുറുക്കന്മാര്‍ എന്നെയോ ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന് വരുന്ന മറ്റു ഇന്ത്യാക്കാരെയോ പ്രതിനിധികരിക്കുന്നില്ല. അവര്‍ക്ക് അവരുടെതായ കച്ചവട താല്‍പ്പര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാവാം. 'സായിപ്പിനെ കാണുമ്പോള്‍ കവാത്ത് മറക്കുക' എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് പോലെ മന്ത്രിയെ കാണുമ്പോള്‍ മുട്ടിടിക്കുന്നവരാണ് ഇക്കൂട്ടര്‍. താങ്കളെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിച്ചു ഇത്തരി കാര്യം സാധിക്കുക, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഒരു ഫോട്ടോ എടുക്കുക എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശം മാത്രം ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് ഇവര്‍ ഒരിക്കലും സത്യം താങ്കളോട് പറയില്ല.

Eliminate the renunciation rule of old Indian passport while issuing OCI card or while applying for Indian visa.
Enforce
OCI Card as an Identification Card for all government/legal/financial
transactions/documentation in India and promulgate this information
through ‘The Gazette of India”.
Provide legal
protection for our investments assets in India and introduce a tribunal
with judiciary powers to settle all civil litigations, expeditiously for
Pravasis.

Excellent Sibi David. You expressed the real, legitimate wishes of NRI. If the Pravasi Minister is indifferent to our request and requirement, he should resign. Why there is a Pravasi Ministry, just to spend tax payer’s money?. Just abolish that ministry, save money. The existing foreign ministry will do the job. Creating more and more “Thastikas” or department will not solve our problem. If there are more department means they will kick us around. There are more troublesome windows. We need one window solution. There must be coordination between departments. So, please boycott this indifferent minster and kick him out from the ministry.

"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."
Note: In certain circumstances there can be a modification or waiver of the Oath of Allegiance. See the link to the right to Chapter 5 of A Guide to Naturalization for more information.
The principles embodied in the Oath are codified in Section 337(a) in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), which provides that all applicants shall take an Oath that incorporates the substance of the following:
Support the Constitution;
Renounce and abjure absolutely and entirely all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which the applicant was before a subject or citizen;
Support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
Bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and
A. Bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; or
B. Perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; or
C. Perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law.
The language of the current Oath is found in the Code of Federal Regulations Section 337.1 and is closely based upon the statutory elements in Section 337(a) of the INA.
