Sobbing hysterically in her prison jumpsuit, the accused hit lady in a New Jersey murder-for-hire denied pumping the fatal bullets into a pal's Pakistani-born wife.

"No! No!" an overwrought Antoinette Stephen told the Daily News in a teary jailhouse interview on Saturday.

Despite her denial, the 26-year-old murder suspect offered an apology to the family of slain mom Nazish Noorani, gunned down Aug. 16 in front of her innocent 2-year-old son.

"I'm sorry," she said when asked if there was any message for the victim's relatives.

Noorani's two-timing husband Kashif Purvis is accused of hiring Stephen, a friend from Massachusetts, to kill his wife during a late-night walk in Boonton, N.J.

"There is a lot of misinformation out there," Stephen said about the intense publicity surrounding the purported hit. But asked to elaborate, she declined.

The 26-year-old woman from Billerica, Mass., broke down when told the murder indictment quoted Parvaiz implicating Stephen as the killer.

Authorities claimed that Stephen shot Parvaiz four times in an effort to steer the investigation away from him. Parvaiz and Noorani were married for six years.

All of his gunshot wounds were nonlife-threatening. Parvaiz appeared in court last month in a wheelchair, with his arm in a sling.

Stephen remains jailed on $5 million bond at the Morris County Correctional Facility in Morristown, N.J. Parvaiz is behind bars at the same jail, held on $3 million bail.

The murder suspect, her eyes swollen from crying, pressed herself close to the glass divider as she spoke over a prison phone.

"I'm so sorry," she said over and over again. "My lawyer told me I can't say anything."

Noorani, 27, the mother of two small boys, was gunned down after a dinner with her family to mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Police arrested her husband and Stephen after he cracked during interrogation, admitting to both the murder plot and cheating on his wife.

Cops then uncovered a series of incriminating text messages between the two suspects.

Six months before the shooting, Parvaiz was busted in Boston for assaulting a girlfriend, Yelena Belorusets, 20, of Brooklyn. That charge was dropped when she skipped the court date
