ലൂയിസ് വില്‍ കണ്‍വീനിൻസ് സ്റ്റോര്‍ ക്ലര്‍ക്ക് അഷറഫ് ലക്കാനി (51) കവര്‍ച്ച ശ്രമത്തിനിടെ വെടിയേറ്റു മരിച്ചു. വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചയായിരുന്നു സംഭവം. ഈസ്റ്റ് കോര്‍പറേറ്റ് ഡ്രൈവിലെ കണ്‍വിനിയന്റ് സ്റ്റോറില്‍ രാവിലെയാണ് മുഖംമൂടി ധരിച്ച രണ്ടുപേര്‍ അതിക്രമിച്ചു കയറിയത്. പണം എണ്ണിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയായിരുന്ന ലക്കാനിയെ യാതൊരു പ്രകോപനവും കൂടാതെ വെടിവച്ചിട്ട് 217 ഡോളറുമായി ഇവര്‍ രക്ഷപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു.

സാധനം വാങ്ങനെത്തിയ ആളാണ് ലക്കാനി വെടിയേറ്റ് കിടക്കുന്ന വിവരം പൊലീസിനെ അറിയിച്ചത്. ഉടനെ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവന്‍ രക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ സാധിച്ചില്ല. മൂന്നു മാസം മുമ്പ് സമാനമായ രീതിയില്‍ സാം ഷാ എന്ന സ്റ്റോര്‍ ക്ലര്‍ക്ക് വെടിയേറ്റ് മരിച്ചിരുന്നു.
സാധനം വാങ്ങനെത്തിയ ആളാണ് ലക്കാനി വെടിയേറ്റ് കിടക്കുന്ന വിവരം പൊലീസിനെ അറിയിച്ചത്. ഉടനെ ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവന്‍ രക്ഷിക്കാന്‍ സാധിച്ചില്ല. മൂന്നു മാസം മുമ്പ് സമാനമായ രീതിയില്‍ സാം ഷാ എന്ന സ്റ്റോര്‍ ക്ലര്‍ക്ക് വെടിയേറ്റ് മരിച്ചിരുന്നു.

No one with a history of domestic violence should ever be able to purchase a firearm.
The NRA disagrees with that because...
-Because they want to sell more guns
-Because they profit off of mass shootings that cause gun sales to skyrocket.
