Farrakhan Says Jesus Was a Muslim

Farrakhan Says Jesus Was a Muslim

At a recent appearance at Alabama A&M University, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan continued to spew his racist and anti-Semitic diatribe. The man who once described white people as "potential humans who have not fully evolved" and referred to Jewish groups as "synagogues of Satan," gave his opinions on Jesus, the prophet Elijah and Cain.

Farrakhan said that the Jews unwillingness to accept Jesus proved that he was black, not Caucasian as commonly portrayed. "Because you are not trained to accept wisdom from a black person, no matter how wise that black person is" Farrakhan explained, "Jesus was a black man."

Farrakhan then referenced the Jewish Seder tradition and specifically the Jewish tradition of the Prophet Elijah's arrival to each doorway on Passover night to usher in the Messiah: "If Elijah was at the door and he was black, you would call 911 and say there's a nigger at the door, claiming he's Elijah! Send the police!"

Beyond referring to a Biblical prophet as a racial expletive, Farrakhan claimed that Jesus was a Muslim. "Because Jesus said 'Not My will, but Thy will.' You know what we call that in Arabic?  Islam. He was a Muslim."

Farrakhan then proceeded to retell the story of Cain and Abel, claiming to be more informed than the Scriptures' author.

"When Cain came to present his offering before God as a tiller of the ground, the scripture says God did not respect his offering.  I don't believe that.  I'd like to offer a correction.  Well who are you?  I'm better than those who have revised your Bible.  I'm better than those who have translated it out of the original tongues and revised it to fit their purpose!  What makes you better?  Because I am taught of God."

Once again Louis Farrakhan speaks from a position of complete arrogance and ignorance, matching the majority of Muslim extremist sentiment. In case our readers are unaware, Islam was founded in 610AD, 580 years after the crucifixion. There has never been an utterance or a single reference to the existence of Mohammad, the prophesy of Islam nor a reference to Elijah being anything other than what he is, a returning prophet, by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the one spoken of in the Old Testament, spoken about in the New Testament and prophesied to return by the Scriptures. Mr. Farrakhan has no authority to place his private interpretation of what he deems to be scripture, nor does he have the authority to demean, deface, destroy or defame any prophet of Christianity. Such an action by a Christian regarding an Islamic prophet is considered blasphemy according to the koran, and is punishable by death according to Islamic law.

Mr. Farrakhan's delusion of the Christian interpretation with regard to the story of Cain is an effort to broad-brush Christianity by the wrong interpretation of a few Christians.

The WCICC would like advise Mr. Farrakhan that he would be well advised to spend some time studying Sacred Scripture by attending some form, be it Christian or Islamic, of theological training at the post junior college level. We advise the Nation of Islam to appoint someone who is well taught in the area of Sacred Literature, so that Mr. Farrakhan does not further embarrass the Nation of Islam with his ignorance and anti-Semitic views.
