Trump, Clinton lead ahead of Super Tuesday contests

Washington, Feb 29 (IANS) Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have forged far ahead of their rivals nationally in the Republican and Democratic parties in the US presidential race before Super Tuesday's nomination contests in a dozen states.

Capturing the support of nearly half of Republican voters, real estate mogul Trump tops all his four remaining opponents combined, while Clinton leads self-styled Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders by nearly 20 points, according to a new nationwide CNN/ORC poll.

Backed by 49 percent, Trump tops his nearest competitor Florida Senator Marco Rubio (16 percent) by more than 30 points. Only 15 percent back Texas Senator Ted Cruz, 10 percent back retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and 6 percent support Ohio Governor John Kasich.

Trump's supporters are incredibly enthusiastic about the coming election, and largely committed in their support for him.

Trump is widely viewed as the candidate in the field who would be most effective at solving the country's problems. The billionaire is also seen as the one who best understands the problems facing people.

On the Democratic side, Clinton tops Sanders 55 percent to 38 percent in the new poll, a slightly wider margin than she held in late January before any primaries or caucuses were held.

There are sharper demographic splits among the Democratic electorate than on the Republican side.

Men, younger voters, independents and liberals are all about evenly split between Clinton and Sanders, while Clinton's lead rests on large advantages among women, older voters, Democrats and moderates.

Democrats are more apt than Republicans to say they would support either of the remaining top candidates should they become the nominee. Just 15 percent each say they wouldn't back Clinton or Sanders, the poll found.

Clinton tops Sanders handily as the candidate who would be more effective at solving the country's problems and can better handle the responsibilities of being commander-in-chief, but Sanders fares better than Clinton on honesty.

Meanwhile, with Trump leading in all the states going to the polls Tuesday except Texas, the New York Times said Trump has an opportunity to amass more delegates and put much more distance between him and Rubio and Cruz.

As for the Democrats, Sanders is looking to rebound after a deeply lopsided loss to Hillary Clinton in the South Carolina primary, where more than half the voters were African-American, it said.

Super Tuesday will change the course

If you go and vote of course

Hillary must be your choice

Because there is no other choice

Trump elected will bring chaos

Because he doesn’t have any ethos

Ted Screw is hated by the Republican Party

Because he is from Tea party

Rubio will be stepping on two boats

Because he wants all the votes.

Recite the Slogan Hillary

And it will resonate until January

Religion and Republicans have something in common and that is suck the blood of the people and get fattened.  You can see it on the face of Trump, He is getting ready to pounce on the Races other than White.  Look at who is supporting him; The guardian of KKK; David Duke.  Now you may ask who is David Duke as Trump asked the CNN reporter.  David Duke believes that the whites are the ruling class and rest of the human beings are inferior.  And you and I are in that group. Don't get fooled like Tom Abraham.  Get out there and vote for Hillary? She is trust worthy. If she had done anything terribly wrong she would not have ran for American presidency.  The male dominated and arrogant Republican Party would do anything to stop this lady from becoming the President of America.  But, look at what is happening.  Their party is disintegrating. Nobody can stop it.  The party will be destroyed from within no from out.  GOP is trying to rewrite the constitution of this country which was written by the founding fathers with all the people in mind.  Malayalee must abandon their lazy attitude and get out and vote.  If you want your next generation to survive this Racial discrimination then vote for Hillary and stop the momentum of GOP.  Don't waste your time going after FOKKANA, FOMMA and WORLD MALAYALEE what ever crap it.  Do you think your children are going to be happy with some dance and activities?  It is so disgusting to read the Manifesto released by the FOKKANNA Candidate.  These people cannot do any damn thing because they don't have the caliber to do it. They are mere bull shit.  If you really wish for this country to have good economy and progress only Democratic party can bring that to pass. And Hillary Clinton can do that. So my request to all Malayalees to get their ass out to the booth and VOTE FOR HILLARY, The next PRESIDENT OF USA.  There is no more supper Tuesday  Tomorrow is the day.

Anthappan, why you think Trump will ruin the economy?  Hillary and all the establishment over the decades have done nothing for the middle class.  During election they come to get your vote, then will sleep with lobbyists and rich folks.  Trump might not be perfect, give him a chance and see how it is....
Anthappan 2016-03-01 12:47:50

Economy is not the only concern

National security is a concern

Relationships with other countries are a concern

Secularism is a concern

Immigration is concern

Racism is a concern

Alienation from other nations a concern

Connection with KKK is a concern.

When you take all this concerns

Trump is a huge concern.

Hillary knows world leaders

And all crooked leaders

Long years she was in politics

And worked with many tics

She is shrewd

And knows the entire political feud.

Trump university is fake  and no  suite

Because there are so many lawsuit.

Trump proved that he is a feud

And we cannot have him to lead.

We cannot give him a chance

That is in the  voters hands.

Agreed Anthappan. It  is not economy alone. BJP in India too asked for better economy and efficient government. Now what are they doing? dividing the country. Only they are patriots and those who oppose them are traitors. Is it acceptable.
Trump may be playing with words only. who knows. He bankrupted the casinos he owned in Atlantic City. He may do that to the country.

From cNN

"Mitt Romney opened his speech by citing Ronald Reagan's argument before the 1964 election that it was "a time for choosing" -- previewing his expected criticism of GOP front-runner Donald Trump by saying he planned to look inward within his own party.

"I'm no Ronald Reagan, and this is a different moment in time, but I believe with all my heart and soul that we face another time of choosing -- one that will have profound consequences for the Republican Party and more importantly, for our country," he said.

Romney wasted no time taking direct aim at Trump.

"On the other hand, if we make improvident choices, the bright horizon I foresee will never materialize," he said. "Let me put it plainly, if we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished."

Romney called Trump's policy proposals "flimsy, at best," and said he'd trigger a trade war, drive up the deficit and lead the nation into a recession.

"Even though Donald Trump has offered very few specific economic plans, what he has said is enough to know that he would be very bad for American workers and American families," he said.

"Now I know you say, 'Isn't he a huge business success, and doesn't he know what he's talking about?' No he isn't, and no he doesn't. His bankruptcies have crushed small businesses and their workers. He inherited his business; he didn't create it."

Romney offered praise for the economic plans of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

"One of these men should be our nominee," he said.

Romney cast Trump's foreign policy proposals as "recklessness in the extreme," pointing to his suggestion on "60 Minutes" that the United States should let ISIS take out Syria's Bashar al-Assad.

"Now Donald Trump tells us he is very, very smart. I'm afraid that when it comes to foreign policy, he is very, very not-smart," he said.

Romney said that "dishonestly is Donald Trump's hallmark," pointing to his "bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny, the absurd third-grade theatrics."

"There's a dark irony in his boasts of his sexual exploits during the Vietnam war, while at the same time, John McCain, who he has mocked, was in prison being tortured," he said.

He lambasted Trump's assertions that he opposed the war in Iraq and saw Muslims celebrating 9/11 in New Jersey.

"He's not of the temperament of the kind of stable, thoughtful person we need as leader. His imagination must not be married to real power."

Romney made an effort to pre-but Trump's response to his speech.

"Watch, by the way, how he responds to our speech today. Will he talk about our policy differences, or will he respond with every low-road insult?" Romney said.

Romney predicted Trump's exchange about white supremacists with CNN's Jake Tapper last Sunday on "State of the Union" would damage him in the general election.

"The video of the infamous Tapper-Trump exchange on the Ku Klux Klan will play 100,000 times on cable and who knows how many billion times on social media," he said.

He called on Trump to release his tax returns, predicting another "bombshell."

"I predict that he doesn't give much of anything to our disabled, to our veterans," he said.

He called on Trump to also ask The New York Times to release the recording of an off-the-record conversation he had with the newspaper's editorial bo

Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney thinks "Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud" and that he's "playing the American public for suckers," according to prepared remarks provided by Romney to CNN.

"His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University," Romney will say of Trump. "He's playing the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat."

Romney, the party's nominee in 2012, will urge Americans "to make the right choices" and not support the GOP front-runner during a speech he'll give Thursday at 11:30 a.m. ET at the University of Utah's Hinckley Institute of Politics Forum.
