‘ഇന്ത്യയിൽ പൂർണമായി വാക്സിനേഷൻ സ്വീകരിച്ച ആളുകൾ പോലും കോവിഡ് ബാധിതരാകാനും പ്രചാരകരാകാനും സാധ്യതയുണ്ട്. അതിനാൽ ഇന്ത്യയിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര ഒഴിവാക്കണം. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ പോകണമെന്ന് നിർബന്ധമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ യാത്രയ്ക്ക് മുൻപ് പൂർണമായി വാക്സീൻ സ്വീകരിക്കണം.

എല്ലാ യാത്രക്കാരും മാസ്ക് ധരിക്കുകയും മറ്റുള്ളവരിൽനിന്ന് ആറടി അകലം പാലിക്കുകയും കൂട്ടംകൂടൽ ഒഴിവാക്കുകയും കൈകൾ കഴുകുകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ടത് അത്യാവശ്യമാണ്’– സിഡിസി ഇറക്കിയ പ്രസ്താവനയിൽ പറയുന്നു.

യുകെ ഇന്ത്യയെ ‘റെഡ് ലിസ്റ്റി’ൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനു പിന്നാലെയാണ് യുഎസിന്റെ നടപടി.

The State Department announced Monday that it would begin to update its travel advisories to more closely align with those from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a change that "will result in a significant increase in the number of countries at Level 4: Do Not Travel, to approximately 80% of countries worldwide."

"This does not imply a reassessment of the current health situation in a given country, but rather reflects an adjustment in the State Department's Travel Advisory system to rely more on CDC's existing epidemiological assessments," the department said in a media note.

The update to the State Department's travel advisory system comes as the world continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic, which has now claimed more than 3 million lives worldwide.

In the note Monday, the department noted that "the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose unprecedented risks to travelers."
