White Supremacists' 2021-03-18 17:55:16
White supremacist groups associated with the MAGA movement and the conspiracy cult QAnon are attacking cell phone towers and other critical infrastructure in order “to incite fear, disrupt essential services, and cause economic damage with the United States and abroad,” according to a new intelligence report released by the New York Police Department and obtained by The Intercept. Amid a surge in hate crimes and white supremacist propaganda, “white supremacist extremists, neo-Nazis, far-right Telegram groups, and online conspiracy theorists have all emphasized attacking valuable critical infrastructure targets,” said The Intelligence Bureau report dated Jan. 20. In more than one case, they’ve succeeded in interrupting resources for law enforcement and emergency services personnel, according to the report, which lists several recent cases. One involved a neo-Nazi chat group whose “members strongly supported exploiting civil unrest in the United States by attacking the country’s infrastructure,” The Intercept reported. Another case was tied to the 5G conspiracy theory, which claims without evidence that the electromagnetic waves put out by 5G towers are harming peoples’ immune systems and are responsible for the coronavirus pandemic. Efforts to spread white supremacist propaganda nearly doubled last year, according to the Anti-Defamation League, which tracked 5,125 cases of the distribution of racist, antisemitic and anti-LGBTQ fliers, stickers, banners and posters. The surge in propaganda came alongside a spike in hate crimes last year, which hit the highest level in over a decade with racially motivated hate crimes topping the list. The increase in hate-related crimes also coincides with former president Donald Trump’s derogatory attacks on the “China virus” (in reference to COVID-19) and his false claims of election fraud. The Intercept also obtained a document from the Department of Homeland Security that revealed three intelligence reports about extremists targeting cell towers in New York, West Virginia and Tennessee on the day of and before the insurrection on the United States Capitol in January.

US INTELLIGENCE REPORT 2021-03-18 20:23:04
US INTELLIGENCE REPORT: U.S. Intelligence report warns of threats from white supremacists, militias. U.S. spy agencies warned on Wednesday of an ongoing threat that racially motivated violent extremists, such as white supremacists, will carry out mass-casualty attacks on civilians while militia groups target police and government personnel and buildings. Agencies contributing to the assessment by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence included the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and the National Counterterrorism Center. The assessment said extremists who promote white racial superiority have potentially frequent communications with extremists abroad who hold similar ideological beliefs and each seeks to influence the other. The agencies said that recent political and social developments - such as claims by Republican former President Donald Trump and his supporters about fraud in November's U.S. presidential election, restrictions related to COVID-19, fallout from the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot, and conspiracy theories - "will almost certainly spur" some domestic extremists "to try to engage in violence this year." Other domestic extremist categories which concern government investigators include animal rights and environmental activists, anti-abortion protesters, anarchists and people who call themselves sovereign citizens who "believe they are immune from government authority and laws," the agencies said.

PUNCHING BAG Texas Museum Puts Donald Trump Wax Statue in Storage Because People Kept Punching It. The San Antonio Express-News reports that the replica had to be placed in storage after multiple visitors attacked it. The statue is located at Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks in San Antonio, Texas, a branch of the Ripley Entertainment Corp. “When it’s a highly political figure, attacks can be a problem,” Clay Stewart, the regional manager of the museum told the publication. After realizing that patrons had an issue with the statue, employees first moved it to the front lobby so security could watch over the replica. However, that didn’t prevent visitors from “punching” and “scratching” the model, which left deep cuts on its face. Ultimately, the museum was forced to remove it from the floor altogether, where it’s been for the last four years.

Glory days of Trump is gone -Abandoned and alone. Glory days of Trump's gold-plated 757 seem far away as plane sits idle at a sleepy airport By Kate Bennett and Pete Muntean, CNN Updated 10:54 PM ET, Fri March 19, 2021 Washington (CNN)Trump's personal Boeing 757 was always the crown jewel of his wealth -- the ultimate sign that he had made it. He's used it as a backdrop for sleek photo shoots, campaign rallies, VIP tours, for shots of him eating his Big Macs and KFC, plated, with a knife and fork. Trump loved to show it off -- the customized cream-colored leather seats, gilded bathrooms, the seat buckles layered in 24-karat gold. But today it sits idle on an airport ramp in Orange County, New York, about 60 miles north of Manhattan. One engine is missing parts. The other is shrink-wrapped in plastic. The cost to fix and get it flyable could reach well into the high six-figures, a price-tag Trump doesn't appear to be dealing with right now. Though the current state of his finances aren't public, the Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on the hospitality industry home to so many of his businesses.

Lead Prosecutor Suggests Trump Is ‘Criminally Culpable’ For Capitol Riot, Is Now Focus Of Investigation. During an interview that aired on CBS News’s “60 Minutes” on Sunday, the federal prosecutor who previously led the criminal investigation into the Capitol riot said former President Trump could be culpable for his role in the raid. Michael Sherwin told CBS host Scott Pelley that it was “unequivocal” that the former president was “the magnet that brought the people to D.C. on the 6th” before his supporters stormed the Capitol building.

WHITE EXTERMISM IN TEXAS:- 'They're taking over': Right-wing extremism flourishes in North Texas suburbs. Mayor George Fuller is troubled by what he sees and hears in this conservative Dallas suburb. Battles with liberals are enduring and predictable, but what worries Fuller is the deepening rancor between Republican moderates and right-wing extremists over what America should look, sound and feel like. Inspired by nativist fervor and fed by Donald Trump's rage, the Republican Party here encompasses anti-vaccination protesters, QAnon conspiracy theorists and those whose mistrust of President Biden only hardens as he reverses his predecessor's policies. “It’s just not the party I recognize anymore,” said Fuller, 58, a moderate Republican whose Trump-supporter siblings no longer speak to him. “We are at a place where families are torn apart by political ideologies that are so skewed and out of whack.” What is evident across this county — where in the 1970s oilmen-rancher TV drama "Dallas" was filmed — is that extremism has gone mainstream in certain pockets of America. Hard-line sentiments that would have been whispered only years ago are now spoken unabashed. That worries Alonzo Tutson, a Black Democrat, who said right-wing radicals here are everyday people who say "howdy to you at soccer practice. They just blend right in." Texas was home to three dozen of the 377 alleged insurrectionists arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, tied with Pennsylvania for the most of any state, according to a study by terror experts at the University of Chicago. Of Texans charged, 20 live in half a dozen rapidly diversifying blue counties around Houston and Dallas, including several in McKinney’s Collin County. The study found that Texas’ rioters were older, more professional and had fewer ties to radical groups than past right-wing extremists. All came from counties that had lost white populations in recent years. Collin County's white population has declined at a rate of 4.3% since 2015. The study’s authors cited increased fear among conservative whites that they would be overtaken by minorities in a “Great Replacement.” “Now that Biden’s in office, a lot of people look to Texas as the counterpoint,” Paul Chabot, 47, a former San Bernardino reserve sheriff’s deputy, said last week at McKinney Coffee Company. He described the area as, “Living how America used to be.”
