Protesters took to the streets following a Trump rally in Costa Mesa

·         Several protesters   were demonstrating against Trump's rhetoric on illegal immigration. Some were seen carrying Mexican flags as they marched in the street. Other demonstrators shouted insults and slurs at police officers.

·         Rojelio Banuelos, a 26-year-old student, carried a sign that read, "Liberation not deportation."

·         "I'm against Trump's nativist and nationalistic agenda, which divides people and is very hateful of the other," he said.

·         While Banuelos simply marched through the streets, he called the property damage and anger some demonstrators expressed Friday night "the symptom of hate speech" and said he did not believe any individuals were taking advantage of the protest.

·         Katie Brazer, a 26-year-old community organizer who marched alongside Banuelos, agreed.

·         "I think people are tired of these messages of hate," she said.

Republicans are a confused lot.  
Historically, it is their turn to preside over the country. 
The unprecedented voter turnout in the Republican primary, if maintained, will favorably tilt the balance in the so-called swing states. 
However, they are unable to choose a good candidate from 1/17. 
Most of the republicans do not like Trump.  The last-minute scrambling to buttress a weak candidate like Trump is a distress action which explains the >60% recent support.  I take pity for them.  Let’s see how far “the necessary evil” argument will go!

On the other hand, democrats have competent candidates.  Bernie may be old of the lot, but sufficiently young, hot and sexy to be a rallying point for youngsters.  Now that he is slowly accepting the receding prospects, Hillary has to woo Bernie.  Otherwise millions of disenchanted first-time-voter democrats will abstain on that crucial November Tuesday.  Hillary’s main weakness is the argument that she wants to continue Obama’s policies.  There are millions of disenchanted independents and others who may be repelled from her.  Having the 42nd president by her side may be a strong point, who knows? Al Gore kept a safe distance from him and lost in 2000.  The so-called “woman-card” and “black-card” that Hillary is said to have been playing are two-edged swords.  A good proportion of male-chauvinists may become angry and cross-vote, and white voters may become disillusioned.  However, there is a racial divide in the democrat’s primary voting pattern:  Bernie won many demographically-strong white states, and vice-versa.   Obama won the whitish Iowa caucus in 2008, not because he was a black, but because he was the best!   If the Blacks, Hispanics and minorities turn out in large numbers, Hillary still has a chance to be the 45th president.
