It was a pleasant evening with salubrious breeze blowing so profusely everywhere. A beautiful sparrow with colorful wings and a tiny beak was so happily flying upward and downward and in various directions with utmost joy. Sometimes, it flew down and sauntered slowly down the lanes of the lawn pecking and hunting for worms or grains in the grass. Suddenly it noticed someone dark and strange seated on a hefty buffalo staring at it a few yards away. The sparrow could guess who it could be, but was wondering “why is he here unusually at this time ? Has my time run out and is he eying on me now? Is my term on earth coming to a grinding halt ? Has he come to take me along with him? I want to enjoy life for some more time” ! The more it thought deeply, the more it became thoughtful and restless. An eagle flying aloft in the sky was watching the sparrow and wanted to know the reason for its sadness.
It flew down in a flip second and asked the sparrow, “ Hi dear, I saw you sitting so sadly. We all belong to the birds species and is it not my duty to help you as someone akin to me? So tell me dear what is your problem and what I can do for you !
The sparrow then narrated the whole thing and after giving a patient hearing, the eagle consoled the sparrow “ Don’t worry my darling friend. I will take you to the summit of a mountain and leave you there so that you can live there so peacefully and happily as long as you want to and even his shadow will never fall on you, I assure you dear” !
Next moment, the eagle took the sparrow in its huge bill and flew so swiftly aiming at the mountain. In a short time it reached the summit, dropped the sparrow there at a serene place, bid adieu to it and flew away.
The sparrow thanked the eagle and then heaved a sigh of relief and said in soliloquy, “Now there is nothing to worry. He won’t have any idea about this place and I can live here peacefully.”!
Thinking so, it turned to the rear to have a bird’s eye view of the ravishing panorama in and around the mountain and to find out if there were other birds too in the vicinity. The sparrow was shocked to see the same frightening figure stand there twirling his curled up mustache and staring at it. It’s head started spinning and the whole body shivering at his sight.
Then he said to the sparrow, “actually it was from here that I wanted to take you along with me according to your destiny. That is why when I saw you in the garden, I was really shocked. But, the power of your destiny is such that the eagle played instrumental in bringing you here. Now, come on, let us go, the time is ticking out “. With these words, Yama dharma escorted the sparrow to the other world.
The moral of this small story is :-
The God of death only knows from where and how he should take one’s life at what time and how to take a being to the predetermined destination to complete his mission. Others have no involvement whatsoever.
It is unchallengeable, irrevocable God’s decision, beyond our comprehension, par excellence !. In other words, it is only pure and absolute
