INOC, USA expresses serious disappointment over Yogi Adityanath as the Chief Minister of U.P.

‘It is a recipe for disaster for the state of Uttar Pradesh however; it is part of a carefully calibrated plan by the BJP to further sow the seeds of polarization and conflict to profit from especially looking at the upcoming Parliamentary election. The real face of the RSS will be on full display soon’ said George Abraham, Chairman of the Indian National Overseas Congress, USA.

‘We are indeed shocked to see that this firebrand Yogi Adityanath whose virulent public pronouncements often borders outright contempt for the minorities in India is anointed by the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah combine as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in India’ said Harbachan Singh, the Secretary-General of INOC.

According to the New York Times report, Mr. Adityanath, 44, was born Ajay Mohan Bisht, and studied mathematics before joining the priesthood. He rose to prominence as part of the campaign to rebuild the Ram temple, and has repeatedly been charged with fanning religious tensions.

In 2007, he spent 15 days in jail on charges of inciting riots, The Hindustan Times reported. He was booked again later in the year, when riots broke out after he made a speech. He is still facing trial in the two cases, the newspaper reported.

Mr. Adityanath was a forceful defender of the Hindu mob who lynched Muhammad Ikhlaq, a Muslim man suspected of slaughtering a cow, and argued that Mr. Ikhlaq’s family should be prosecuted for possessing the meat. When some Indians complained that they should not be required perform a “sun salutation” as part of International Yoga Day celebrations, saying it was a religious act, he recommended that those who were offended should “drown themselves in the sea.”

Mr. Adityanath has openly called for India to be enshrined as a “Hindu Rashtra” and supports the rebuilding of the temple in Ayodhya in place of razed 16th-century mosque. During the State Assembly polls, Adityanath was a major campaigner for the party across UP. The Gorakhpur-based politician enjoys a substantial following in Eastern U.P. where he founded Hindu Yuva Vahini whose volunteers are known to use strong-arm tactics during communal riots, cow-protection drives and to prevent ‘love-jihad.’

INOC urges the NRIs in America to strongly express their disapproval of the selection of a Hindutva extremist to be the leader of the most important state in India. ‘Opposing Trumpism in America while remaining silent on the fundamentalist ascendance in India would tantamount to nothing less than duplicity’ the statement added.

You show your double face here. You are afraid and angry when a racist killed an Indian and Hindu. But you support the hate mongers in India against fellow Indians. After Babri demolition, we saw riots and hundreds or thousands of Indians got killed. Was it fun? was it college level fight?

This guy Adityanadh would be in jail in any civilized country for his hate campaign. But in present India things are different.

Now we can see mandir politics and tension. Ultimately, this is not good for the India we as it now. May be it will be good for you Hindus. But not for others.

I'm not a particular fan of any Yogi, Modi or Sha. The majority people of the state elected a party in a democratic election. Same people will throw them out if the rulers turn out to be scroundels in the coming years. Average Indian Hindu psyche is not like that of Christian, or Muslim - come what may I will stick with my relegion - like the politics and people of Muslim League and Kerala Congress in Kerala ). Average Hindu voter will go against their own guy if he does chettatharam in power. So please chill out Mr George and team. India is a great country and every one has their own place within limits.
Also it is laughable when pundits like you sitting in USA write articles of prophecy about UP. Even pundits sitting there could not get the mind of an average villager in UP.
By the way people of all relegion are happy in UP. They seems celebrating. Also you talk about riots after meeting of this Yogi guy. It is all common things in politcs and even in campus, we call it fights. You can exaggerate it and call it RIOTS also to suit your purpose.

Sir, What we are seeing is the root cause for the elimination of the great congress party in India. The cause being the double face and hypocrisy of leaders like INOC chair here, not Hindus like me. I would have applauded if he expressed his views as that of a minority or as a representative of a minority organisation. If you have been watching, over the years, as chair of"secular" INOC he had written only about his own religions perspective, but he is smart enough to wrap it around miority issue to sound like a statesman. When people of our great congress party stop this double face and hypocrisy and stand for all people, we will see the fall of BJP's Hindutva agenda progression - I want that too - no party should go to the extent of massive majority. Take the case of UP. How the state reached the position , in this 21st century, of selecting a person like Yogi whom many see as hardliner? A Dalit Mayawati ruled that state in the past, Muslim friend Mulayam ruled, his son Akhilesh ruled, Congress ruled for several years. Now majority gave a verdict. Can't expect BJP to follow congress policies. Just like in America, Tump got elected for a reason. Same in India. This INOC chair is just trying to cherry pick and paint a picture of monsters out of everything BJP does and alienating a lot of people(najority community) from INOC. His crying wolf is not going to help it.

Why INOC worried about the chief minister of UP. What this INOC doing here. Critizing the BJP government. Any way congress is dead in India and the tail of congress INOC is almost ready to die also. Instead of ciritzing please do some work. We the malayalee (mostly the members of INOC) have nothing to do but blame the central govt and that is the reason we are not getting anything from central. What our MPs are doing either sleep or critizing. Where any church break in India all our MPs are running there. എങ്കിലും ചില മന്ത്രിമാർ ആൾദൈവങ്ങളുടെ കാലു നക്കാൻ നടക്കുന്നതാണ് ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന് അപമാനമായിരിക്കുന്നത്. സുഗമമായ ഒരു ഭരണ സംവിധാനത്തിന് മതവും രാഷ്ട്രവും രണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. അഴിമതികളും കൈക്കൂലികളും ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും മതേതര രാഷ്ട്രമെന്ന നിലയിലായിരുന്നു ഇൻഡ്യ പുരോഗമിച്ചത്. പാക്കിസ്ഥാനും അഫ്‌ഗാനിസ്ഥാനും ഉൾപ്പെടയുള്ള ഭീകര രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ ഉടലെടുക്കാൻ കാരണവും മതമായിരുന്നു. നാസികളുടെ ഉദയത്തിനു കാരണവും ഭീകര ക്രിസ്തീയ ചിന്തകളായിരുന്നു.

ഇൻഡ്യ ഒരു മതേതര രാഷ്ട്രം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചില്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ നാല്പതുകളിലും അമ്പതുകളിലും ഇവിടം കോടിക്കണക്കിനു മനുഷ്യ ജീവിതങ്ങളുടെ രക്തപ്പുഴ ഒഴുകുമായിരുന്നു. അന്ന് ഒടുങ്ങാത്ത പക ഹിന്ദുവിന് മുസ്ലിമിനോടും മുസ്ലിമിന് ഹിന്ദുവിനോടുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഗോഡ്സെയെപ്പോലുള്ള ഭീകരരരുടെ കൈകളിൽ ഇൻഡ്യ അകപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു. അക്കാര്യത്തിൽ നെഹ്‌റുവിന്റെ ദീർഘ വീക്ഷണത്തെ നാം അഭിനന്ദിച്ചേ മതിയാവൂ.

ഒരു പുരോഹിതനെ ഒരു മുള്ളായെ ഒരു പൂജാരിയെ അധികാരത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നത് ഉചിതമല്ല. വർഗീയ വാദികൾക്ക് മാത്രമേ അവരെ സ്തുതി പാടാൻ സാധിക്കുള്ളൂ. ബഹുജനം കഴുതയെന്നു പറഞ്ഞപോലെ മൃഗീയ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഏതു മത തീവ്രവാദിയും ഭരണത്തിൽ വരും. ഹിറ്റ്ലറിനെയും ബഹുഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തോടെ ജർമ്മൻ ജനത തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത വർഗീയവാദിയും പൂജാരിയുമായ ആദിത്യന്റെ മുസ്ലിമുകൾക്കെതിരെയുള്ള വെറുപ്പിൻറെ പ്രസംഗങ്ങൾ പച്ചയായി യൂട്യൂബിൽ കേൾക്കാം. ഒരു ഹിന്ദുസ്ത്രീയെ ഒരു മുസ്ലിം പീഡിപ്പിച്ചാൽ നൂറു മുസ്ലിം സ്ത്രീകളെ ഒരു ഹിന്ദു പീഡിപ്പിക്കണമെന്നാണ് ഇയാൾ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. വർഗീയത മൂത്തു മദർ തെരേസായെയും അവഹേളിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഇയാൾ വളരെ അപകടകാരിയാണ്. ഇയാളുടെ പേരിൽ കൊലപാതകക്കുറ്റം ചുമത്തി രണ്ടുമൂന്നു ക്രിമിനൽ കേസുകളുമുണ്ട്. ഇയാളെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാക്കുന്നതിനു പകരം ജയിലിൽ അടച്ചിടണമായിരുന്നു.

I support that Swathathan. He siad the right point. BJP/RSS/Sangh Parivar very often say to religious minorities to leave India or go out of the Hindu dominated country. Like wise The BJP/RSS/Sangaparivar fundamental believer Dr. Jayasree Nair also can go out of Christain majority nation USA and settle in your own country, India. Really I do not mean that. Whether in India or USA we have to live and coexist like brothers and sisters. Do not give much importance to your religion , caste creed. Very often Dr. Jayasree Nair utter intolerance and senseless points. o I agrre with swaththran.
